Fairchild Tropical Gardens has a mangosteen tree growing in the greenhouse that is producing fruit!!! This is in Florida and the only one that I have seen with fruit.

Even in the tropics they can be a bit touchy. One of mine got too dry when the irrigation played up. A couple of years later it still hasn't fully recovered. They don't like missing out on their water and they seem to have a long memory when it comes to that.

have these guys under careful growing conditions, it's all enclosed to hold the humidity.

Looking good. Just make sure it keeps getting that humidity. They are slow growers.

I put in a thermostat device to control the temperature. It's connected to one of the LED grow lights, the higher wattage one that has a fan, and set to 77 °F.

Although the plants were doing fine for two months before the thermostat. I wouldn't have wanted to spend the money but I got the used thermostat for a really good deal.

They are hard to be grown outside their habitat....keep us informed

Wow! -- Any updates at all on this? Thinking of ordering some mangosteen seeds, or a plant, from Hawaii. North Carolina here, so would be growing them strictly in a greenhouse.
