you know, really, it works fine. Any color changes are going to be for your own pleasure. It is balanced. It doesn't come across as too big or too small, too dark or too light and it is pleasant and welcoming. The only shortcoming it has is that it needs anchoring to the ground. It tends to feel like it is floating. I'm sure you will get some good ideas from landscapers about how to do this but taller shrubs on the right end side will enhance the horizontality of the house and make it feel wider, so it will fill the yard better.

I think it looks lovely as is, but if you want a change I like BM Hawthorne Yellow for the brick with Graphite Gray Shutters and leave your front door red. Glue down a runner from the front door to the sidewalk in a natural jute and add an umbrella tree or something of interest under the small window to the right of the stairs. Cheers.

Thanks, we like the color, but I couldn't help but wonder if another color combination might look better. Since the roof is grey, something about the black shutters tends to look odd to me, but perhaps I'm just being picky. I agree that we need some taller shrubs over to the right side to level the house out, and I like the idea of a runner down from the front door to the sidewalk. I think the house could use some type of centerpiece as well....perhaps adding a small overhead porch to the stairs.

For the porch, paint the trim area around the door the same color as the door, red, this will make your door look larger. The white trim is making the door look small.

Paint the house a darker shade of gray, like BM Coventry Gray. Paint the shutters a rich warm gray like BM Rainy Afternoon. I'd paint the left side of the house that juts out, a slightly darker color like BM Cos Cob Stonewall, and I'd wrap the color to where it meets the main facade wall. I'd paint the downspout same color as the wall so it disappears.

I'd paint the red steps the same gray as the main facade wall, Coventry Gray.

the first color is coventry gray, the second is cos cob stonewall and the bottom darkest color is for the shutters, I agree they look too dark in black and need to be warmed up, maybe even a shade darker than the door red, it would look great with the rich dark grays.
