Just finished painting bedroom gray and will replace brown carpet with a gray carpet. Need advice on replacing two chairs vs. re-covering them, replace table between chairs and add a new lamp or get a black shade. Additionally, I have a large indented wall space and need ideas on what to place in this area. Previously I placed a painting on the ledge that extends below the area. I am attempting to make the bedroom more light and bright. The windows face the north so winter days can be dark. Thanks

so if we are worried about dark, i would ditch the black shades myself.

the chairs do not appear special. you should be able to replace for much less than recovering - unless you really want unique recovering.

Table between chairs, lets give it shininess.

though i am not a big fan of mirrors, i believe a mirror effect might be an excellent choice to bring in more light.

i would stay with the white bedding, lets have some lighter pillows.

I like the chairs. The table between them is too tall. Find something about as high from the floor as the arm of the chair.

For that vacant space on the wall you could paint the "frame " in either old gold or old silver and get a piece of acrylic mirror cut to fit the shape, you could try glass mirror but it might be expensive, it would help bounce the light around the room in winter.

What accent colors would you like to use with your new wall color? Your chairs would more than likely be less expensive to replace than recover.
