It's hard to believe it's the same room, but it is! It was a lovely Cape Cod style home with lots of moldings and traditional details, but the family wanted a bright Mid-Century Modern style home. I love how it turned out!

Thanks for the awesome comments! Here is the entire room "AFTER" pic...I wish I had the same angle in the "BEFORE" pic (scroll down). The subtle improvements drastically changed the look of the room by simply removing the moldings and trim work, replacing the traditional fireplace with a modern custom fireplace surround (which I LOVE!). We kept the existing wood floors, and as much as I wanted to replace the windows (to clear, undivided glass), we kept the existing windows (sans the frames) for budgetary purposes. We intend to add floor-to-ceiling modern drapery panels down the road.
