Does such exist? No, sorry. There are a few off-brands of small pressure cookers (aluminum clad in SS) but no canners exist to date. There are only 3 brands of pressure canners (All American, Presto, Mirro) approved for canning.

The issue isn't just the material used - canners are aluminum rather than stainless steel - but the fact that the burners cycle off and on so maintaining the pressure required is difficult at best and that fluctuating pressure can result in jar siphoning and/or UNderprocessed foods. The weight of a full canner also threatens the cooktop integrity.

Investing in a separate gas or electric burner for your canner is the only option currently available.

I use a regular pressure cooker on my induction cooktop all the time. Cycling isn't a problem because the mass of the PC can't react that fast, but there are no appropriately sized cookers available for canning. For canning, I use an electric solid element single burner which I put on the back porch in order to minimize heat in the kitchen. I heat food and jars indoors on the induction cooktop and place filled jars in the canner outside. After loading the pressure canner, I top it off with boiling water as needed and finish my canning just outside the back door.

I use a portable gas burner so can't speak for JXBrown but we have had several previous discussions here on electric burners and the consensus seems to be that it must be a coil or solid plate burner, 8" rather than 6" in diameter (bigger is better if you can find one), 1200-1500 watts, and must be able to support the weight of the full canner as many are quite flimsy. All that puts you in the $100 + range in cost.

There have been reports of the cheap ones working one or two times but then burning out or breaking.

Thanks! I just ordered a Cadco PCR-1S Cast Iron single burner. Many reviews say it works with the large Presto pressure cooker.
