White tile worry!

Hi helpful houzz community- I am completely redoing my kitchen- and I need help! I want to use a grey/beige with a white contrasting colored checkerboard tile effect in my kitchen flowing out into the entrance and patio- but I am nervous that white and grey flooring will show all the dirt and I will constantly be cleaning up - anyone out there with experience of white tiles?? Thanks so much!

Actually, I have dark Brazilian hardwoods and I am constantly swiffering and vacuuming the floor. I have light tile in a large bath and I cannot tell if it is dirty or not till I get done on my knees;)

That's the main issue with extremely dark or light flooring. White tiles are not the best to 'hide' dirt and water marks.

The white tile floors in two of our bathrooms show everything. I still like how they look--they just take more work. Your gray-beige tiles won't show everything, so the checkerboard effect will substantially diminish how much the white tiles show.

You could make sure the grout is put in so it's basically level with the tiles and doesn't catch gunk. That way frequent cleanings will be easier and more effective. I agree that the checkerboard effect will help diminish the obviousness of anything on the floor. Sounds like a cool idea, having it stretch to the outside!
