How do you decide if the ceiling should be painted the same colour as the walls or left white as you have? I will certainly be painting my powder room dark too!

      If you're painting a small space with dark walls it would be best to leave the ceiling white. That way the space will still feel somewhat open.

      We generally recommend to paint the ceiling white (as well as the baseboards). Painted (especially dark colors) ceilings tend to make the room feel cramped and heavy. In contrast, we often recommend dark colors on floor, as this tends to create warmth that radiates upwards into the room.
