Thanks everyone. From time to time both the boys take an interest in sewing, so I do my best to accommodate them. When we travel I pick up embroidered patches of places we visit. He has decided to put his patches on this quilt. I thought that was a good idea, so that is what we will do.

That's so cool. I wish my Grands had an interest, it would be fun to teach them. But they only have interest in the world of virtual reality. If it has a rectangular screen and a keyboard, they're all there otherwise no.

Bev, that's so cool that your grandson pieced his quilt. I tried to teach my granddaughter to knit, but I don't think that went anywhere. My grandson is like Rita's grands - screen time - but he does draw beautifully, and spends a lot of time doing that too.

What a great idea to put his patches on the quilt he made. This will certainly be a treasure as he continues to grow up and have more patches. Another way of having a memory quilt. :-)

Rita and Lois, I started by letting them make Minecraft pillow cases. Perhaps you could start with that.
