In need of Curb appeal

I have too many colors on my house and I don't know what to paint or what color would look good. The siding is cream. The garage doors are tan/coffee. The shutters were once a dark green, but have faded to a blue. The front door is a dark red behind the white storm door. I painted the brick on the first floor a dark chocolate brown. Help please. Do I paint more white, maybe the trim should also be dark brown.

paint the garage doors the same cream color as the siding.

your dark brick looks like a black hole. the entire thing recedes. redo the brick in something lighter. you could even do it in the cream, and paint the trim in a dark, contrast color. Black, navy, dark green, etc.

pick a three color combo that you like.

Consider removing the white post and replace w/a solid wood one that's square. similar to this:

The brown is not working for this house. Select a shutter color and use it on the brick.

Would you leave the garage doors the tan color still?

HI -- I think the trick is to paint the whole house one color . So paint the brick to match the siding color and leave the tan on the garage doors . Then paint the shutters a darker tan . Then paint the front door a black/brown such as " Willow " by Benjamin Moore paints .

1. Paint the siding and brick all the same color. A light gray is a good choice.

2.Replace the current storm door with a full glass storm door so you can see the door behind it.

3. Paint the garage doors white, the same color as the trim.

4. Paint the shutters black.

Remember your brown roof shingle is one of the colors that dominate right now so take it into consideration when you are choosing your base and trim colors. Keep the color scheme simple. Here are a few inspiration pics - but there are hundreds here on houzz that you could scroll through for color combos.

Agree with quercus2 above about painting the siding and brick all the same color. I would go white or cream or some version there of - not in the gray tones. JMO. Also agree to replace the storm door per his item #2.

It's a nice house, but, unfortunately, the windows are not well placed. Why are the windows above the garage different from the other windows? I realize they are larger, but the trim is different and the windows themselves appear to be different as well. I think the house needs the shutters, but the shutters are all the same size, even though the windows are not all the same size. But if you put wider shutters on the windows above the garage, it would draw even more attention to how widely spaced they are.

I think you should paint first, and then maybe re-assess and consider someday addressing the windows above the garage.

Replacing the porch support with a beefier, less detailed one would make a big difference.

Above the garage was an addition put on about 20 years after the original house. I never even noticed the size difference before. The porch support seems like a quick easy fix and I agree it could make a good impact. Thank you.
