Front door color

Here's a picture of the door I'm installing. Need help choosing paint color. My two- story colonial is khaki siding, black shutters and white trim. I have a small portico covering the front entrance with white pillars. As you can see, most of the door is glass. Was thinking either black or wineberry color. Also, I am open for other suggestions.

Please reconsider door choice. That leaded glass is not colonial style.

What style door would you suggest

Please post a picture of the house and we'll tell you what style door would work.

A door more suited for a Colonial style home would be something such as:

Definitely not seeing ornate glass.

However, as mentioned seeing a photo taken of the home from the front yard would be of great help!

That door selection is such a very wrong choice for almost any type of home. The other doors posted will work and these also.

I know the door you selected is very expensive, but IMO it always appears cheap in appearance because the details are so very wrong.

I appreciate all of your honest comments. This is a picture of my house. This is the original door. I agree, the door style needs to be colonial. Could you please suggest a color. And, should I paint the triangular part of the portico khaki to match my siding. Also, changing all lighting to black. Open to all suggestions. Thx.

I think if you take a photo of the whole house it would better help to offer suggestions about painting the, "portico". I agree you might go with larger scale lighting in black on each side of the front door with clear glass. The current ones are stunted by the larger entry.

I don't see a natural way to paint the portico. White looks clean.

Like your brickish red colors for the door (with a better style choice).

Please ignore some of landscaping... the larger things are being removed. I know the outside lights need to be larger. I'm looking for suggestions for a new front door and front door color. And deciding on whether to add khaki paint color to the portico. Appreciate all of your suggestions.

Benjamin Moore Night Train; Fairview Taupe are some ideas. No khaki on portico and paint sidelights white so door is the stand out

I would keep the gable over the porch white. Shutters are a bit undersized for your home.

You have some exotic landscaping that has grown out of control and is really not very complementary to the colonial home. I would consider spending funds on addressing that issue. It's a bigger issue than your front door.
