Need help with crown molding!!

Just had crown molding installed in my dining room. It's an old house so of course the walls and ceilings are not even. There are some gaps where the crown meets the wall as well as where the crown meets the ceiling. Here is a picture of one of the worse cases. It seems too wide to caulk. Please tell me there's a way to fix this problem!!
