We built our new home last year and left the roughly 2000 sq ft walkout basement unfinished. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the ceiling and walls ended up being drywalled. We have lights and a few outlets but we do not have heat/air as we don't really plan to finish it anytime soon. That being said, I would love for my kids to be able to ride their bikes and scooters down there in the winter and use it as a indoor play space. The drywallers got mud all over the floors and now we have to decide what to do/how to finish it. We don't want to spend a lot of money (ideally $2000 or less). We can just use some really hot water and clean up the mud and dust and leave it raw (though some areas are smooth and some are rough?), we can try to finish it with an epoxy, we can paint it......any other ideas? What would you do? I think tile is too expensive for now, and we might want to finish it in >5 years so I don't want to do anything that would interfere with that. Looking for something cheap, that might make it feel a little "nicer." (cross posting in the building a home forum)
