Looking nice! Mulch can tie up a lot of N in the soil and not let it be available to the tree. It may not hurt to bump the N a bit. The older leaves are paling a bit before they drop. ....Again looking just about right for this time of the year. - George

True with the mulch but it also helps to keep the surface roots cool in hot summer days. Beautiful trees.

Also, when should I start easing off on the fertilizer? I think when I was first asking for advice, I was told to fertilize till September, do I recall correctly?

that really depends if you let it go dormant in a cool place or growing through the winter? Here I would stop in September.

I have no idea! George might know! Mine are outdoors, in the ground in Northern California, and we get a few days of frost in January-February. Hmm, how would i find out?
