My incarnata is about four years old and it's not blooming yet...should be soon. Patience!

I m growing some that I bought from the native plant society and others I started from seed. None have bloomed yet for me either. My perennis blooms when it cans but usually it is the first milkweed stripped bare so I don't ever get a change to see if I can get a pod.

All my incarnatas were grown from seed. They are nice and tall and have what I would call blossoms which are attracting wasps, but the blossoms haven't yet turned pink. I've also had a few caterpillars on these plants. I shall continue to be patient. Thanks for your report.

I hear they don't like heat and I see some list them as 8b for this reason. I'm relocating mine to somewhere with a little more afternoon shade and hoping that'll help them be more vigorous.

Edit: I also had the bud issue (never bloomed) and I did see some black small milkweed beetles on the plant, might be related? I have aphids on the non-native but they don't touch the Swamp ones, thankfully.

I see plenty of butterflies on the buds, and for the first time, for me, there are a couple of dozen caterpillars all over the leaves, so tho' they might not look pretty they still seem to be doing their job. I just finished planting three dozen marigold plants around the incarnata/perennis patch and the tuberosa patch in hopes of deterring the aphids.
