Storage will probably be important so I would choose things that has drawers, chests, nightstands, etc........I would also keep things light....sofa, chairs, bedding.....and soft....upholstered arms, ottomans......also look at ways to maximize closet storage.....get a bed that is higher off the floor to take advantage of underneath storage.....good luck....have fun

The opening to the right in the first picture - is that the bedroom? Does it have a door for privacy? It seems you have a lot of right angles in your apartment. I would want a round, or oval dining table to break up the hard angles. A sofa and two chairs in the living room and round end tables instead of a coffee table will keep the space more open. Great window! Lots of natural light.

A floor plan is useful in furniture layout ideas.

I have a friend who lives in a very similar apartment! We were able to improve storage space in her home by getting her a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds which is in the living room area as a work desk - but can also turn into a guest bed whenever she needs it!

Good morning. Thank you guys for responding. The first pic is the living room. To the right is an open space where a dining table can fit. I was thinking to put a table and have lighting hanging to compliment the dining table.

Is the floor laminate? It's hard to tell- it looks in good shape. What about it don't you like?
