We are looking to update a late 1970s Vermont cabin which has weathered rough-sawn pine everywhere! For the living room, thinking that either the ceiling or the walls should be painted (shellac primer then a white for the ceiling and/or maybe grey for the walls?) Anyone done a refresh on something similar? We have gotten rid of the curtains which already helps brighten it up. Will look to paint or stone vaneer the brick too

We recently did a quick fix on the kitchen cabinets (also the same pine) painting them red to break up the color scheme a bit. They look much more red in the photo than in person.
