I'm knitting in the round to make a sock and I didn't think i made a mistake/I didn't notice anything wrong on my last round, but when i got back to this spot there was a weird looking stitch. Sort of looked like a slipped stitch - there was no knit stitch underneath it. Unfortunately i slipped it off the needle thinking it was a mistake but it turns out it is a stitch i need to keep up my stitch count. There's no loop to pick it up like a dropped stick but when i slid it off the needle now i have this ladder.

(i tried to recreate as best I can but this photo is after i tried to just hook the stitch back on - not how i originally found it) as you can see there's no knit stitch underneath it it just goes straight over to the next stitch.

That hole there needs to be hooked back onto the needle somehow - i need this stitch to maintain my stitch count.

The ladder I have if i pull it taught. as you can see there's no loop for me to hook like a regular dropped stitch.
