I was going to put the 3 photos but they are glass and my baby was climbing and trying to touch them. So I gathered some of the photos and pics I had in the basement.

Did the living room rug just not work at all under your table? But I love the kids table by the window and I hope they like it.

But hey it's not my house, I'm just an observer, if it looks right to you that is all that matters.

I like the basement rug with the painting in the dining area, but I think the rug needs to be turned 90°. That way it won't sit under the sideboard and the chairs can be pulled out and stay completely on the rug.

Have you considered no rug in the dining? It'd be a whole lot easier to clean.

The kids' table looks great by the window.

I think the sideboard could use a basket of fruit or just a basket.

I noticed you changed the orientation of the dining table and I think it worked better the other way. Would you be willing to rotate that basement rug and the table to the way you had it before? The sideboard can be moved to the right some so it is not centered with the table and your baskets placed to the left of the sideboard, not right under it, so your kids have easy access to them.

Or you can ignore me and love it the way it is!

Okay I'll change the orientation. The rug in the living room is way too big for the kitchen. And I tried no rug but the stones are very slippery and the chairs slip and slip everywhere.

How's it looking? When this is done I have a nursery and a master bedroom haha

Don't go crazy trying to fix up your new house. You may not be there in 2019! The kids will be older before you know it, and a lot of their current stuff and clutter will disappear, hopefully. While the sectional looks nice, it FILLS the room....so gray, black and white are the colors which are the most powerful in the room. If you painted the walls white, and exchanged the yellow bits for another lively color, that may help.

Oh yeah now I like it! The rug and art look great now that you've switched it back. Awesome. Looking forward to your other rooms :-)

Maybe your trio of art could still be used in your dining room stacked vertically to the right of the painting? Maybe your husband could just hold a couple up to the wall and you can check it out before you hammer nails in.

I tried the 3 vertical and it looks a little unbalanced...maybe if I had more art to balance it out or a bigger sideboard but I'm not going to go crazy with buying more stuff. I like having just a clean neat space. I loovvee that picture with the gallery wall tho :O !!

I am going to try and convince my hubby we need another sofa cover...maybe a white? Then I can get some colours in the house with that?

I'm really loving the blue...I had the white cover for the sofa i currently have in my basement and honestly it was so much easier to clean. Just washed it every other week with bleach, hung it in the sun and good as new. I've been wanting to get a sofa cover for a long time..I think it's good to have an extra when you wash 1 set.

What do you all think? Should I just leave it? Change it?

Either the white or blue would be good, and a nice easy fresh change. But indulge in new throw pillows too.

Everything in the living room is rectangular right now so I hope you can find a round end table or two. Have you tried that set of round things you have in place of that lamp table? Like put your lamp on the tall one and put the other one by it for setting a drink on. That gets some circles in the room.

Or put the round set left of the tv in that corner the wall and tv console make. Just a place for the kids to climb or set stuff on. At the end of the sofa like they are in your pic they look curious like they have no function.

Okay so the rug is on it's way! I moved the 2 nesting tables to the front porch...I'm getting a round coffee table. I'm excited and I'll post soon!

I found a black metal coffee table at IKEA for $20 in their as is section so I spray painted it metallic gold and it took a good 2 days to make sure it was all even - but 2 days and $30 later I have a beautiful table!
The bottom shelf is black brown - I'm unsure if I want to paint it gold or to maybe make it white? (Inspo photo attached)

Rugs going to be here on Thursday or Friday :) I'm excited for my living room to finally be colourful!

So I moved the blue canvas at the bottom of the stairs and I made some cute prints myself. I just wrote out some coffee quotes (were a big coffee family- even my kids drink decaf with milk hah)
I'm thinking about getting 2 more throw pillows..ones that have more colours to them to play into the rug. Here's what I have so far! Any advice is appreciated! And my kids love the new colours in the house!!

The coffee phrases are cute. They provide a nice graphic touch.

I'm just weighting the corners down but it's so bright and soft! Love how bright the colours are. Makes the space look so different even though it's a cloudy day!

Moved the kitchen over! I had to screw the book shelf into the wall so it took longer. All I need to do is fix the pictures above the sofa how groveraxle showed and get a couple more throw pillows to tie the blue and magenta in.
I think it looks so much better! Huge difference!!

Thank you!!! I worked on my bedroom today! Basically all I had was my bed... I moved the living rooms rug under my bed and I think it ties it together nicely. I also just finished my kids shared room ( baby gets get own room since she still wakes at night up breastfeed) I'll send photos tomorrow (it's almost midnight here) next project is my baby's room!!!
