You'll have to consider if that will be a busy traffic area. In this situation it is the main traffic route from the front of the house to the rear yard, where a lot of time is spent. Therefore enough space is required to comfortably walk past the stools while someone is pushed out and away from the bar. The stools will require at least 2 feet from the bar when pushed out, and another minimum 2 feet of walking space behind.
