Extra long shower curtain? Or not?

It's time to mount shower curtain rods for my 2 bathtubs. Should I go with regular length shower curtain or extra long shower curtain? I don't know what the rules are. Both baths have 9 ft ceiling, subway tile all the way up, and shower head around standard height (78 or 80 inches). I'm showing one of the baths here. Thx!

Extra long for sure. It will draw the eye up and compliment your high ceiling. Consider a patterned shower curtain that works well with your decor since it will be a big feature in this room. Happy decorating!

do you have any visually strong horizontal planes in the room like door and window heights?
If you do I would go with whichever length matches the height of your door casing.

Sounds like the consensus is extra long. Thx! I see that many extra long curtains are 90" long. Should I mount the rod at 96" above floor?

@s c: Thx for the tip. For the bath that I showed, the door casing should not be a factor. The other tub (not shown) has a small window next to it with wood casing. I will check whether it looks better to align with that.
