If you have 5' of horizontal space you are going to get 5' of stems. It spreads everywhere it can and will out-compete everything.

It will grow into a monster with little encouragement. If the bottom doesn't get sun, you will have stems or trunks on the lower part with all the foliage and flowers at the top. It does attract hummingbirds, so that's a plus, and yes, it is messy.

Yup on the monster comment. We dealt with a beast in the house we acquired two years ago that was easily 30 ft tall, and strangling an oak tree. It only bloomed at the top due to shade issues. We tried cutting it significantly down, but it grew back so rapidly that I got tired of cutting it every two weeks. We finally just chain-sawed it to the ground poisoned the roots and covered it in mulch. The damn thing is still sending out shoots a year later ( which I pull immediately)

I thought that may be the case that they fade :( I am hoping to plant some real vibe such as creeping fig so it can grow in the fake one & by the time the fake one fades the real one will give us enough privacy. I'll post a separate question re the fake ivy - may b they're r people who have it & they can share their experience.

You plan to use ivy covering your low wall for privacy. What am I missing? Because that does not make sense to me.

To clarify I plan to use the gain ivy to cover the low wall and install the 10' metal posts with wires every 18" and attach the faux ivy so it gives me a total of 10' of screen/privacy.
