I've never ordered from Article.com before but I'm shopping for a new sofa and they have some nice options.

I'm thinking of getting the Sven in Oxford leather (either black or blue), or the Worthington in Oxford brown leather.

Anyone have these? Are they pretty solid or flimsy? Do they look as nice in real life as they do in photos? What have your experiences been ordering from this company?

Hello,

Though I bought this couch in tan, here are my thoughts on it, and my experience with customer service.

It's a very stylish couch, that's really comfortable at first. They really do look nice in person, and seem to be built pretty solidly (it's heavy) I really loved it.

But within one month, the foam in cushion started loosing it's support and "sink" in the middle. It was not something you could see, but something you could only tell once you sit on it. It felt like I had this couch for years already, but in a way a one would think it was time to get a new couch!

I emailed Article asking what I could do to prolong the life of my couch, as I was concerned that the cushion foam wouldn't last through the year. For a couch at this cost, you would expect a couch to last longer than a few months. The response I got was that it was normal for the cushion to sink, and that should be slouchy as if I had it for years. The design is "as intended"... I explained that I wasn't concerned about how the couch looked, but more how it felt to sit in it. It went from being medium firm to very soft in the middle. It feels really flat when you sit on it. I was told regularly fluffing my cushion would fix my problem.

After a lot copying/pasting their previous response to me that my couch is just normal wear, I got frustrated and tried to fix the problem myself. I opened up the cushion to see what I could do about replacing/adjusting the foam myself. However, I wouldn't be able to replace anything unless I cut through the thread that creates the tufting which would ruin the look. So basically, it means one wouldn't really be able to replace the cushion in the future. I emailed customer service again, but they wanted me to send pictures again, and I just feel like they're going to make me go in circles again about how it's the intended design.

I also noticed that there are only 2 wooden beams underneath the couch to support the cushion. I would think for a couch that has a single cushion, you would want more slats to give it more support. I really think they went cheap with that aspect.

I really have a love/hate relationship with this couch. I really want to love this couch, but it honestly just gives me anxiety thinking about when I'll have to replace it.

Useless in 2 years!

Both seat cushions of the Nova Gray sofa we purchased a little over two years ago started crumbling and leaving ivory powdery dust all over the place. We had to trash them right away concerning asthma and such. No pets or children at home, and we only dry cleaned the covers one time. The customer service was robotic and even pointed fingers at us.

They ended up offering a 25% discount for a new set of seat cushions by saying that would be available in 4-6 months, which we found it insulting. We tried to get a hold of them to see its availability, but they have been dead silent.

Looking at it in the corner without seats is very upsetting, and that's an understatement.

Article is a terrible company, I purchased a sven daybed and needed to get a new pillow for it. They absolutely refused, I offered to pay out of pocket but they didn’t care. I escalated up through the ranks and they just refused. Stay away from this Article!

I am not surprised. These companies offering good looking furniture, especially sofas, bed, lighting fixtures at a very good pricing, often sells lemons, then give the customers a run around when it’s time to refund their money. Often they don’t. I have a colleague who used to work in customer service for one of those companies, they were told to say whatever needed to be said, but no refund should be given.

A little late to the party here. I would never buy Article furniture again. Every single outdoor set we bought has had a failure including the "Lagora Bistro Brown Dining Table" whose finish deteriorated immediately, the Mirow Deep Aqua Rocking Chair which rusted out within a few months, and the Arco Mustard Yellow Counter Stool which became discolored quickly. We reached out to Article for around a month getting lame AI-generated responses which also requested LOADS of information, which we painstakingly provided, only to be told at the end of all the correspondence that they warrant furniture defects for 1 year...1 YEAR. That should tell you something. Buyer Beware.
