I don't have Minuteman, but every year a couple of my hostas do that with a few leaves or sometimes a whole eye. Take notes, and see what comes back next year. They are unstable and that is why we get so many sports.

I like when the hostas send out some oddly cute leaves like this one. If they have time to get big, they'll be really interesting looking on your Mm. I haven't seen any on my Minuteman, but they do show up on various hostas some years.

I have a bad tc Wide Brim that looks nothing like the pretty ones I see here. One year I was deciding if I should let it continue to take up valuable real estate, but wouldn't you know that year it suddenly put out some really different looking streaky leaves that looked pretty good when they grew out. That's when I said, "Oh, all right, you get to stay":)

Sandyslopes, I have a bad TC Brim Cup. In the spring the leaves look so bad and I am just about positive it has HVX but I convince myself to wait and see what the new growth looks like. Later the new leaves come up just perfect (I guess Frost/cold damage) and she lives to see another year! My Brim Cup was actually labelled Wide Brim but it wasn't until the alphabet game in the winter here that I figured out it was mislabelled.
