Suggestions on paint for trim and wood siding

last modified: 13 years ago
We just bought this old house. Present owners are repairing a lot of wood rot on the addition. We will need to paint, and are thinking we should change the color scheme now. I am okay with the green, but would like to make this more modern, or classic, and less country. I seem to be drawn to the orange brick houses with dark green, or brown trim around the windows. However, If I do that, then what color for the addition? Should I play it safe and stick with boring beige? I think the green would even be okay if it were a different shade perhaps olive or army with lots of black accents. My husband is trying to drag me to the Sherwin Williams paint store to pick colors. This is not like picking out curtains, its the color of the house. I am panicking a bit, because I know how hard It is to pick out the right colors for the walls, let alone the actual house! Help greatly appreciated!
