They both look good, but I lean a bit Edgecomb too in this case.

Thanks Amy Quintanaroo! I’m between these two colors as well. Do you find Edgecomb Gray more or less beige than the Accessible Beige? I think it’s more gray...my husband sees more beige! Settle our debate :)

I just saw your comment! Sooo sorry! I did think EG was less beige than Accessible Beige. But there is still a beige undertone to EG which is what I was aiming for anyway. I’m assuming you already have a color that you picked. What did you end up going with? :)

An older thread, but as I'm facing the same issue (BM Abalone looks blue/violet), the last image posted by Amy shows an astounding difference! I'm off to get Edgecomb Gray and Accessible Beige samples and see if it can turn my entry/stair from blue/violet to .....well, whatever color this is ;). Nothing like painting twice (although it only took 1 coat on limited walls for me to immediately stop - now my garage is going to get Abalone!)

Here's the blue/violet cast to my front hallway. If all my trim was white, maybe it would be okay?

Go with Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray. Trust me! I have painted all my downstairs that color, along with hallways and even my master. It’s the perfect color and brightens up any space.

@Amy Quintanaroo: My only difference/concern is the maple floors and pine trim on my first floor. It looks great with your white trim and grayish floors. I'm going to get a gallon of "something" today and do a test wall....we shall see. And I'm selling the house! I just want a nice, neutral, color that enhances (vs. violet/purple of the current Abalone).

Edgecomb Gray...on all three walls. But I'll take the beige wall instead of blue! Seriously - colors are wack, no?!?!?

Amy, I just stumbled upon this thread because I'm debating between the same two colors. Everything seems to lean pink/purple in my house. Your house looks great. Are you still happy with EG? Can you tell me what kind of flooring you have (in the close up picture)? Color, material, etc. Thanks!

Jhouse-post some pics of your own space. I’m no designer, but the two spaces above are vastly different- white trim and cool floor vs very warm trim and floor. Plus everyone’s lighting is different. Maybe do some boards and post pics. Gotta try in your own space...

Rather than a gray, white and cream color scheme, why not replace the cream color with an accent color? White and gray are very good together but cream adds no real contrast. Bring home some color sample chips from the paint store or use your paint color fan deck, if you have one, to select a compatible third color.

I did AB by SW because it looks great with wood trim. I would say it looks more “whitish” beige. Now that I have painted my trim white dove by BM the AB walls look warm “tannish” beige. (Love !!!) The perceived color of the AB color changes depending on the trim color. The best thing about AB is that it never looked blue or purple. I feel EG can looks blue. Good luck. Did you already pick a color?? I’m new to your thread.

Hi Amy, did you use flat sheen? I’m planning to get a sample of Edgecomb Gray. SW Repose sample looks purple somehow. Thanks!

Also have a sample of AB and Agreeable Gray....your pictures really helped. Seems Edgecomb is a Greige.

I’m so sorry I just now saw this. We used an Eggshell Finish with Benjamin Moore-Edgecomb Gray. In Sherwin Williams paint I always go with Satin

Hello! I’m looking to paint my room that gets all the sun light in the world! I painted them agreeable grey but omg my walls are purple! Absolutely hate it ! Im leaning towards accessible beige or edgecomb grey. which one will not leave a purple color ? My room window is pretty big and I always have direct sunlight since it’s the upstairs room.

I don’t know about accessible beige but we have our interior painted edgecomb gray. I love it but while appearing a warm gray when well lit it can take on a violet caste in lower light situations. usually it’s just a great neutral color so this doesn’t bother me.

Do you have a photo when it takes on a violet caste? I really don’t want to paint anything that will even have the slightest purple caste.

Can you give me the info on your flooring? It looks so nice!
