What kind of feel are you going for? I've read, the less contrast between the trim and the wall color the more relaxed/laid back. The more contrast, the more invigorating. Simply white and mascarpone are both great colors but I agree with JudyG Designs, the same in a different finish could be beautiful.

Totally agree...use White Dove in semi-gloss for trim. I know someone who just used Sherwin Williams' Alabaster for both walls and trim (semi-gloss). Lovely!

Are you all easing my mind?! I had decided to do semi-gloss White Dove as the trim. But, I also like the idea of contrast shown here.

The trim is White Dove in semi gloss. The samples - all in satin - on the wall are from top to bottom:
SW Aesthetic White / SW Shoji White / BM White Dove

Dove White is so pretty! I was surprised at how much whiter/brighter the semi gloss was however.

To my eye, the 1st is too gray for me. I do like the Shoji. Any thoughts about Shoji vs. White Dove? I also got paper samples of BM Pale Oak & Classic Gray. Decided they were too gray.

I'm about to do White Dove walls and heard that doing White Dove in semi-gloss for the trim is the way to go. Thanks for taking that picture of the samples with the semi gloss trim. There really is a contrast in the two finishes! I was worried there wouldn't be - because, like you, I am looking for a slight contrast.

we did navajo white semi gloss trim and white dove ceiling. Nice contrast.
