the best paint that I have found for painting furniture and cabinetry is made by Benjamin Moore. It is called "advanced" or "advantage" -- something like that. I've painted a lot of furniture with not-great-results until I found this paint.

I think you will really like this paint. It doesn't "bubble" like some paints do. And it dries to the touch very quickly so that dust in the air doesn't have a chance to stick to it (my major complaints about all other painted furniture projects that I've done). Don't over work the paint though -- once you have coverage stop rolling.

I had a old white washed oak wet bar in a family room that I didn't have the budget to replace just yet. I painted it black with this paint and it turned out fabulous. Really wish I had found this stuff sooner.

Annie Sloan's chalk paint is very cool if you like the cottage look. I think it would be great with the style of your furniture. You can find recipes online - Annie's is very expensive - and my friend who made his own said it worked great.
