Is anyone else selling them? How many dozens will you have? What's the demand like - so you have a population that likes squash blossom soup?

It's a crap shoot on pricing, but it's easier to drop the price than raise it. And it's a way to get extra $ out of the male blossoms.

I have plenty of squash blossoms...and there are lots of ways to prepare them besides soup. I was looking for comments from others who sell or have sold them.

I wouldn't put too much effort into developing a market for the blossoms. When I take them to market I usually put 4-5 in a quart container and ask $1.50 for those. If they don't sell in the first hour of a market I just toss them as they wilt fast.

A better marketing plan for the blossoms may be to respond to any requests or just post a picture of them with recipes and mention that you will take orders. Selling them has been more disappointing than selling bushels of mature zucchini fruits.

In our area some folks offer the blossoms free with zucchini baskets. They only last for a short while, often closing in a couple hours. The blossoms are fun to eat raw and fresh.
