I would keep this an informal fun room/sunroom where u can relax w friends. Skip the couch/armchair idea and instead use white wicker furniture. I would paint the wood a white and get a fun color scheme like yellow/electric blue, orange/green etc. the window bench will be adorable after its painted white, an u can get new cushions and pillows that will match wicker furniture. I would replace the flooring or add a big rug to add color. This room has great personality and even greater potentail! Have fun!!

I would paint the room a color either green or a gray blue and get new cushions to update the room. I would put down a new floor or a big area rug to hide that border.

I think you should repaint the room. If you really want the chairs and table then I would take out the window seat and put some colorful chairs in...it is a sunroom so you need colorful things. But if you want to keep the window seat I would add some new cushions and some pillows. Also, I would replace the floor. If you want to still have storage for your kids playroom, and if you want a TV so it could be more friendly for adults, then I would add a new bookcase wit built in storage and enough room for a TV.

What a great room to start with.
* I would repaint the wood white including the storage bench. (You may need to go cream, yellow, green or another color instead of white because of the color of the floor tile because white might be too stark)
*Recover the cushions with a bold graphic print or rich color.
*Get two tub chairs that swivel.
*Remove the table and put one tub chair on the corner of the square on the floor near the location of the table and the other chair on the point of the tile near the door.
*Get a small coffee table, probably round to put between the chairs.
*Lots of pillows on the benches.
*Billowy curtains to soften the window area.

This way when company comes over turn the chairs to face the benches for a comfortable conversation area.

I would keep the terracotta tile floor and get a sisal rug. I would paint the walls a soft medium green to blend with the outside. I would get roman blinds in a cream linen to soften the room and for when the outside is ugly in winter. I would get scaled down couch and a chair or two that can be covered in a happy floral with creams and greens and other colors that you love. Cover the window seats in a solid corresponding color and get some throw pillows so the kids can lounge on them comfortably.

I am not a designer but I like joansahmed idea of updating instead of redoing. New bench seat covers would not take the benches out and would not redo floor instead get a rug. If you remove the bench you have to redo the floor since there is nothing underneath. But I think that you should look at a budget and that will dictate what you can and cannot do. Good luck but make sure that you keep a separate area for baby girls.

The benches should have safety hinged tops so the toys can be kept inside and be easily accessed by your daughters. Then you can remove the toys from shelf area. That way at least a small amount of the time you can call the room your own before the girls reclaim it from you during playtime! A jute rug would be very comfortable for the girls to play on and it's very durable. Surprisingly soft and cushy under bare feet. Roman shades should have an insulating lining for the wintertime. Tables should have distressed finish so they always look good no matter how much playing is done on them.
