This is a difficult question to answer. I have bought West Elm products for many years, but I have noticed huge variations in the quality over the years. So it would depend when I bought the product, what I bought and what texture it was. Personally, I find West Elm quality not to be what it used to, but I now live abroad so I don't purchase as much from them...

I've bought panels that were great, but they were exactly what I was looking for. They were not very wide but I wanted them as stationary panels to frame window. It depends on what you're looking for and how you are using them. If I had wanted to use mine to pull across window then I would have needed more than the two panels that I purchased. You need to measure your window and then check the width of panels that you're looking at. Usually you need three times the width of window for fuller look in drapes. Can't tell you if they are thick enough, don't know what kind of material you're interested in. You can always line them yourself if you are looking for thicker/room darkening drapes. Most of the west elm stuff seems to be more sheer or casual linen so they won't be very heavy. Perhaps you should look at pottery barn or restoration hardware for something more substantial.

thanks guys! the panels i want are not wide enough so im a little worried that if i get four panels the design would look weird. i was thinking pottery barn as well. i think im going to keep looking! asv, nice to hear from you! thanks for your opinion:)
