Can you confirm my understanding? I believe your bamboo is what is called vertical grain (also known as edge grain) as opposed to horizontal (or flat) grain. Yours is vertically oriented, but either grain can be oriented either vertically or horizontally. I'm finding pictures on houzz that has "vertical grain bamboo" oriented horizontally, and calling it "horizontal grain bamboo". I think that is wrong...it is certainly confusing.
