You're hung up on rug size for a furniture arrangement and how do you KNOW its the only arrangement? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't and "You're getting two new couches"......want a rug

Id stay neutral with area rug cream color with flecks of taupe or sage. Avoid patterned rugs

None of us are in the space, Many times.....people are surprised at options they haven't considered....................................

Suggest waiting to choose a rug until all the updates are completed, including seating placement, as the rug should pull the room together visually.

Also step back and consider the overall look you are after. I can see a warm, organic approach with some darker accents and be sure the rug’s undertone works well with the fireplace and wall color. Accessories are really important in pulling a room together and test lots (that are returnable) and consider some impactful art.

Here is another pic the room is about 15 long and 17 feet side I’m thinking to put the couch along the kitchen area and two chairs along the area where the railing is at to go downstairs

I do think you are stuck on needing a very specific size for the rug! You actually have more flexibility.

I found it online it’s similar to my layout with the tv in the corner beside the fireplace with putting the couch across from the fireplace and chairs to the side

If the measurements allow, couch facing fireplace with a console behind, occasional chairs facing each other, and a big square coffee table will create an inviting and balanced space.
