I have no insight on the L piece. When my island slab was installed, the installer measured hallways and turns to make sure they could get it to the kitchen. You should ask the installer whether there are any concerns about getting a large piece into and through your house. Hope this helps.

I agree with his assessment. The only way to get it in if he's locked in would be to leave gaps at each end. Quartz is harder to break than natural stone, but a run that long with a sink cut out in it is risky, especially if they have to turn and twist to get the piece in.

Thanks Presidio. I think that's reasonable. We would also have to remove some molding around a door for it to even fit. The house is 70 years old and not square at all.

The fabricator can be creative to put the seams in places where they will be least noticeable. At the sink? Diagonally at the L? Give it some thought and talk to your fabricator/installer to find the least noticeable option.

Your fabricator has remnants of this color sitting unprofitably in his rack. If he can sell a seam, he can sell paid-for material for pure profit. As long as there aren't any physical impediments, there is no technical reason this top can't be installed in one piece. Tell him to buy these and lower his risk. Geesh.
