So sad to leave my BlueStars

We put an offer in on an amazing house today. While it has a wall oven, it has an electric cooktop - no range. I put my BS RNB30 into service in December 2014. I always thought if I moved, I'd take it with me. The new kitchen is really pretty, but no range. I don't want to tear it apart. And my navy BS won't really match. I'm so sad. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the open burner cooking. It's the most amazing piece of equipment! So, while I'm excited to be moving (if our offer is accepted and our house sells), I'm super sad to leave my beautiful range (and matching wall oven).

It would not be too difficult to modify a cabinet and counter to accept a Bluestar rangetop, although the gas line may be another story...
I love my Bluestar too, I feel for you ;(

Switch the electric cooktop to an induction cooktop and you'll forget all about cooking on gas

I understand the mixed emotions. When we moved a few years ago left behind a great kitchen. Particularly a gorgeous glass door sub zero that was a show stopper. Good luck with the house and I'm sure you will learn to love your new kitchen! Or maybe you will be installing a gas line soon...

We also sold our house with our renovated kitchen and Wolf range 5 years ago...and I've been on electric since. Finally upgraded to induction last year, and while I miss the look of my Wolf, I'm now an induction convert. :)

I did take my gas range with us when we moved to our current home. I was hoping to modify the kitchen but that didn't happen. Instead, I upgraded the wall oven to Gaggenau and the radiant cooktop to Bosch induction. It's not what I envisioned but I've never been happier while cooking!

Before you make expensive changes, like adding a gas line, see if you can play around with induction. It's different but so fast, keeps the room cooler, and is easy to fine tune the cooking temp when you want it very low.

I'm sorry that you have to leave your range. She's a beauty.
