Need color ideas for trim on 1910 home

We are about to move into this 1910 home. The trim needs repainting. Also the window frames and the the front door. It is located in a historic pioneer town where the predominant trim colors are sage and a light rust. We would like to use the same pallet. But need help with placement. Also should we leave the columns white?

Eggplant door and add color to
The trim slightly like 10% of the stucco color

I would put shutters on the one large window, paint the shutters and trim in a B Moore SeaPine and get a stain to match that for the concrete porch and froundation below.

Love the idea of eggplant with that color of brick. How about eggplant door, white posts, pale blue ceiling. Add small touches of eggplant just a line of it around the windows to accent the window curve. Add white railing around porch and railings down stairs. Then foundation plantings and lots of flowers. I see a large pot to the right of the door and that great bench the same light blue as the ceiling. A window box below the large window on the right would be a big plus. Keep in mind if you paint the foundation that is will draw attention to it and will be a big pain to keep up. Your best bet is foundation plantings.

Maybe keep the idea of the neighborhood colors, but deepen them to sw 6452 inland and sw 6335 fired brick

A set of real shutters on large window would be very pretty and add a spot for one of the colors

I stated above the following: I would put shutters on the one large window, paint the shutters and trim in a B Moore SeaPine and get a stain to match that for the concrete porch and froundation below. Then I noticed your white bench, I would paint it in the same color as the trim and the shutters on the large window. Move the big pots, one on each side of the steps and put some beautiful colorful trailing petunias and something the middle of each pot for height and in a dark green, maybe an evergreen (small)

Some great ideas! The barrels and bench belong to the current owners. We will replace the current with a longer bench with a straight top, which won't block the window. The barrels will be gone, also.

Wonderful ideas. I really don't like the oval glass in the door. The photos really helped visualize the new ideas.

Because your house is a victorian style, I would resist the temptation to use shutters and maybe go with a couple of trellises either side of your big window that are higher on one side and slope to a shorter on the outside. You can get two hinged together intended for a corner backdrop and separate them for a great look to fill up that space. Flat sawn ballusters would be great in a porch railing. A gothic pattern would tie in your gable trim well. Make sure to keep your arched brick trim work in a contrasting color from the body so it will not get lost. What a great house! You are lucky. Oh, and don't forget a finial for the top of the front gable!
