What kind of bamboo seeds do you have? Bamboo seeds are viable for only a short time period and generally difficult to propagate which is why the preferred form of propagation is by division. I have heard of people planting thousands of seeds only to get a few to germinate and live to be adult plants.

I grew some many years ago which were from an Al Karr plant and I got only 5 to germinate from out of about 35 that I planted, but I only kept one alive to adulthood, but the challenge was fun. I put the seeds in water for a few hours before planting directly in some potting soil about 1/4 inch deep, which I kept moist, and then once they emerged, I treated them just like all other plants...not too much water, not too much sun, and a warm environment. Good Luck.
