Why did the thickness change?

Hi Aramos! We're constantly trying to advance the state of the art in the cement tile industry. Our primary tile studio produces a stronger, higher-density, reinforced tile. This allows us to fill the market's desire for a thinner tile (easier to install), and reduce shipping weight and volume (more economically and ecologically friendly), while outperforming 16mm tiles, using more rustic techniques.
