Thank you. I'm not opposed to updating the trim inside the bathroom to something similar to the picture you posted. The doors are solid wood and in excellent shape.

You can actually take your current door and have it converted to a pocket door for the shower/toilet area. I'm not sure of all the steps, but my in-laws had theirs done and it turned out beautifully.

keep the door solid, whether its swing or pocket. reeded glass is not very concealing when the object is close to the glass....nekkid people will be standing very close the the door, causing tears and/or hilarity from family members.

Since the toilet is so visible , I would suggest keeping a door for privacy for the inner shower/toilet zone. A pocket door would require reframing that wall, which may be an unnecessary expense. If you choose a pocket door, it should be a solid wood or noise-insulated door. A frosted or reeded glass door would only give some privacy. If you have kids using the hall bathroom zones at the same time, privacy is required. Kids can be very touchy about privacy.

I'm not sure what the door dilemma is. I'd leave it just like it is. I would, however, extend that wall to the ceiling, and probably remove the crown since it doesn't look like other walls have crown molding.

30 years ago when we moved into this house, that wall went all the way to the ceiling. We put a skylight in the room with the toilet and tub because it was so dark and closed in. We also lowered the wall to allow for moisture to escape. There is a fan there but my husband takes really hot showers. Can I lower that wall more and put some type of a piece of glass there? or just drywall cap it without any trim so it's not as obvious.

You either need no wall or a wall to the ceiling my opinion. Put a bigger exhaust fan in.

i feel it just makes the toilet area too un-private. glass to the top would be good. put a timer on the fan so it can run 30 min after you leave.
