That's a strong colour. It will be 2 steps lighter than your island = darker than you can imagine. I would NOT rate it as "not too dark". Once everything is finished, it will turn medium dark or even dark. It is not a "mid tone".

The tones are fine....the DEPTH of colour is probably too much if you are looking for something not "too light or too dark."

Taking all your good comments into consideration - now I'm looking at mixing weathered oak and classic grey.
