Before you plant it either place you might want to read this discussion about its semi-invasive and permanent growth nature from over on the Herbs forum here. Once there it is quite difficult to get rid of.

Thanks for the info Dave- and for the link. From what I have read the Russian boking 14 variety spreads by root, but not by seed. I have an out of the way place in mind outside the garden fence. So considering how permanent it is I'll go with that. If the critters bother it I will just put some chicken wire around it. Thanks again-i always enjoy reading your responses.

I doubt but anything will bother it. I have that strain and it covers about 9 square metres in an out of the way corner.
