I like the bottom pic better. Do a very simple backsplash.

What elements are in the room: floor color especially... 2nd reminds me of caramel sundae...lots of swirls. Do lights have any pattern? wallpaper, etc... to me it depends.

what going on the floor? If you pick #2, the floor should be solid or something without a lot of movement.

how big is the area? is this going on an island too?

put up a pic, a diagram or give out more details.

Buckingham

Not really a fan of either, but the second one is better.

The last one is better, it has so nice wavy pattern. and I like taupe color in it.

I like the Buckingham, but like Beth H. said, make sure your flooring is very simple so it doesn't compete if that's the one you choose. Same goes for your backsplash, too. If your flooring is busy, though, I would go with the Brownhill.

The 2nd one has a lot more character to it. I have to agree with some of the above posters that you'll have to be careful with the rest of the kitchen to keep it from being too busy.
