My first thought was to put the couch against the big wall and turn the rug. If you do that, what does the couch face? t. I would take down the small mirror and print. You will need drapes to frame the window once we get the arrangement right. I also like the blue in the pillows.

@tennisanyone the sofa would be a tight fight against that wall and leaves the two other chairs backing the entrance.

Are you not wanting to be able to somewhat walk up to your windows? You will be reaching over the couch to adjust your nice blinds? (Love those chairs)

Is the couch facing the tv? Have you tried the couch against the wall and the two chairs facing into the room?

The room will feel bigger with the couch on the big wall. What is next to the blue picture. It is hung too high

I really would try the couch on the big wall and have the two chairs face the couch with the black table in the middle and turn the rug. You can always turn it back if you don't like it. As I always say, it costs you nothing to move the furniture.

Thanks Tennisanyone, I will give the arrangement a shot. Oh, the thing next to the blue picture is the door chime. The blue picture can moved elsewhere in the home. Ideas on paint color, drapes, accessories if any?

SO MUCH BETTER!! I had a similar issue in my family room where everyone kept on telling me to rearrange the furniture and when I finally turned it around I ended up loving it. I am shopping for consoles myself currently and here are the ones that I have my eyes on. I have a small budget so only looking at more affordable pieces:

If it were my space, I would start with window treatment, than add bigger prints or paintings and finally add a console or credenza or bookshelf then finally accessories. Good luck!

SO much better , don't you think. Move the two chairs a little closer I know I'm picky. A new rectangle coffee table in a dark wood and then try that little end table next to the chair on the right.

You are off to a good start. I do hope you keep this arrangement or at least live with it for a few days. Take down the mirror and replace it with the blue picture and then I would get a small dresser or console table underneath with a lamp and use it as a buffet/bar.

Also the picture on the wall behind the couch is too small. Can you move it elsewhere? Can you take another picture looking at the chime? I like your entrance and would do a big mirror on the wall with a console or dresser underneath too. It will reflect light into your living room.

I miss read, I see the door chime above the picture but I also see a black something on the left. What is it? I changed my mind on the coffee table, keep it glass but a rectangle and I would try that small end table on the left by the chair towards the door side.

I also like the new arrangement better. If you have the budget for it, I would "line" the room with a 40" tall recessed panel wainscoting painted white all the way around. Then paint the walls above a color. You only have neutrals so far, so you're still wide open as far as color goes. A deep red would be a classic against the gray of the sofa and the rug. Then add decorative gray linen panel drapes on a black rod framing the windows. Or reverse it, paint the walls a gray and then do red linen panel drapes and red throw pillows.... if you like red that is, but almost any color would do at this point.... And then on the wall that currently has the small round mirror I would put a curvy black or silver leaf console, something soft in shape to balance the very linear and kind of "edgy" rug and upholstery (both of which I like very much!). And then a big modern piece of art (just a big unframed canvas), above the console. And 2 pieces side by side (or 3 or 4 - 2 above 2 below) above the sofa. And then see how you like it and go from there....

I love the rearranged look so much better! tennisanyone has given you great tips. Decide on a color you love and add, gray and yellow/grya and various blue tones as in the pillow you had, gray and red/orange unlimited options there. You can also get your color or a pattern in your curtain panels. I would love a console table anda mirror. Keep posting like to know what you end up with. so much better!!

The new arrangement looks great. I would suggest new drapes for the windows. Additionally, much larger artwork over the sofa hung 6" above the back of the sofa.

I too like the furniture placement much better. You colors are pretty neutral right now so I feel whatever your favorite color is, (other than a neutral) paint your walls that color. Your picture above your couch should be quite a bit bigger. I would even consider putting a mirror over your couch. Do you like plants? A little bit of greenery would look nice in the room too. So far so good!

As mentioned earlier in the discussion, I think you have the perfect slate to introduce a few more colours. Colours that go with Grey. I am a huge fan of making any space extra special by simply adding accessories. Please decide on a colour palette that you can commit to, before you buy any accent pieces. I would prefer some bright highlights against the grey. These are some bright cushion covers that will suit your couch. $25 each with cheap delivery worldwide from a site I recently purchased from. A cluster of different colours and patterns that go with each other would create interest and energy in the room.
Your setting would look good with colours such as Red/Orange/Yellow. Since the rug has a lovely square design, geometric patterns would be great coordinates.

Wall art to small. Add much bigger art with vibrant colors. On both walls. Change sofa to chair wall move chairs opposite. Add orange & cream panels in a chevon design. Add orange pillows to sofa.

Add tall floor lamp next to sofa. Area rug could be contemporary , but with more color, brunt orange rug in shag would be fun.

Get much bigger table for between chairs add tall lamp. Gray shade black base. Put small rd table next to sofa. With a plant walls a lite dove gray.

Changed my mind. Put sofa on wall with small pic. Add floor lamp and small rd table. Turn rug to run long ways in front of sofa don't put under sofa but move out 6". Put chairs together opposite sofa.they will not be on rug. Just coffee table. Don't angle, 5" between them. Add large palm silk. In nice white ceramic pot next to window & chair. Put large 5 ft long mirror in silver or black frame. Hang 5" above back of sofa. On wall where small mirror is add a art piece 40x40 square. Vibrant colors. No frame. Hang low 25" from floor centered. What's in rest of room? Potted big plants add interest and texture to room. Still do the panels in orange or turquoise chevon print. Add candlesticks 3 to coffee table.area rug needs more color.

Add very large rectangle mirror hang vertically in silver. Frame next to front door. On wall you have picture put a chest or table there small to fit area. Picture way too high always place art 4-6" above furn. Depends on ceiling height. If no furn 24" from floor.

A small area rug round in entry, pick color from panels.

Just saw pic you posted today after I did my post. Love it, but move chairs together not on rug. Get panels for window. Remove things from walls.

Are you keeping the new arrangement?

Sofa on the wall is better. Can you center the rug on the windows? I think it will anchor better and correct the lop-sidedness. Replace your blinds with fabric or fiber roman shades under stationary panels on decorative rods hung about 1/2-way to the ceiling from the window top. I think red, yellow or orange would make a great accent color for your space! That might eliminate your blue floral piece though. Start the color theme with a great piece in the entry, then another on the wall where the blue is now. Last, something super over the sofa.
