I'd select a round cocktail table w/ a stainless steel base such as this one from Room and Board:

This is a little different from the other suggestions, and might be a little "out there," but I love the organic modern look of the Timber Coffee Table & End Table from Z Gallerie (timbers are cast in resin and silver-leafed)

The sofa has a touch of chrome trim, so a chrome-base coffee table would look like it belonged, with a glass top. Avoiding another "square" shape will keep the setting from looking "blocky."

Meanwhile, the sofa needs something flanking it -- a floor lamp in chrome or lucite. The color of the shade, regardless of its shape (drum shape is popular now) will determine what tone is cast in the room at night.

That shorter red vase would make a great table base for an end table. Put a round glass top on it -- only slightly bigger than the vase's widest diameter. The other vase can hold the branches although if you put it in the other corner (or some other location in the living room) and put a string of tiny lights in it, it will make an interesting look.

PS - If the wall art is not hung at eye level, it needs to be lowered. (If the occupants are over 6', think "shorter.") It looks disconnected from the sofa by being too high. Even 3-4" can make a big difference. If all your furniture is low-slung, hang artwork even lower.
