Back to Normal Sorta-Kinda...

I've actually managed to sandwich this quilt that I'd started before Irma hit. I'm just studying it to decide which way to go with the quilting. I ventured out for the first time this morning since the storm. Even though we got our power back on Tuesday evening, I was trying to save using gas since most of the stations aren't functioning or don't have gas. I went to the grocery and was surprised to see some of the stuff available. I actually brought home some ice-cream, poor DH has been without all week. So I still have the tub full of water (we have a well) because the trees are weakened and I just KNOW that as soon as I empty the tub the power might go down again and then who knows when they would be able to come back around to turn it back on, there are still so many all over without it. I've gotten physical rest since the storm but I'm still very tired, I guess major stress does a number on us without realizing it. All I can say is I'm grateful for little damage here and it could have been so much worse.

Rita, you've had a harder time than we did! I'm glad you're feeling a little more normal.

I made my first trip to the grocery last night. It still looks like an army went through. There were only "weird" eggs (brown ones and organic), almost no meat or bread. My DH loves Little Debbie Donut Sticks, and the only thing in the LD display was three boxes of lemon marshmallow pies! :) Good thing he stocked up.

We still have tree limbs piled up along the streets, just waiting for the city to get to them. But we never lost water, and our power came back on Monday afternoon. We've been without cable/internet/TV since Monday, but that's really a pretty minor inconvenience.

Over the weekend I quilted a lap quilt. I intended to sew the binding on it Monday, but couldn't with no power. :)
