The shoe on the glass fence is loose after Hurricane Irma. On one long section, the glass fence will rock in one direction but not the other (ie backward about 5 degrees) but not forward. It should be and was stout and previously fixed. It appears the shoe was installed directly on the pavers which are set in concrete. Only the aluminum part moves. 3 shorter sections do not move. On the other long section, only a portion of the end moves. House came like this (builders model). There is no adhesive or rim on the aluminum shoe, it simply is a u channel that holds the glass in place.

Any ideas on how to make this more secure for the future? Sure, Irma was hurricane (cat 1 here) and there is damage to be expected but I would expect the base to be fixed better. Obviously the simple base as opposed to one inset in the patio is part of the issue. Was thinking of pouring a cement ring around the base to stabilize it for future storms and possible trim it out with pavers. I understood if the class would break from a strike but the base should be installed/fixated to withstand 80 mph winds without question.
