Wow I didn't know Ixoras get aphids, that's good to know thanks! I have some of the dwarf species planted in front of my aphidy firebushes but never saw them on them, might be the climate difference

My roses get them.

We have those black ants that like to harvest aphid honeydew...they like to put the aphids on the newer leaves of the ixorias.

Jatropha? My 10-year-old jatropha (in shade) is suddenly covered with them. I don't have a sprayer and don't want one.... should I just leave them alone to be the aphid-attractor for the yard? The older leaves are too dark, but we did have some slightly chilly weather during this 2020 "winter" in west FL (it's March 16 today, weeks of dry skies, cool nights still, but 80 degree daytimes). The newer leaves so far look ok.

I asked too soon! I looked today and no living aphids seen. I trimmed/pruned most of the older extensions and soaked it with the hose. Much healthy new growth. Sure it will be fine.

My jatropha in the sun is aphid-less and in full bloom.

tropical milkweed and black eyed susan are planted in my garden to keep them aphids out of my roses.

Milkweed are aphid magnets.
