Too dark and too reddish. You need something cooler. Grout comes in a rainbow of shades of tan and gray, so you should be able to find something that blends better than this!

Your construction guy needs an eye exam.

You can dig it out and regrout it but don't let him go to the store and pick it.

Totally wrong. The spacing is also too wide. Has to be either ground out and replaced. Always get samples and let them dry before you accept a grout color.

I'd be interested enough to see photo of tile - not installed, no grout. It does seem lighter/ greyer....

He's fixing this eye sore - said to get already mixed grout - I attached kitchen tile and the actual pic of porcelain used in bathroom which is light gray . Any suggestion for grout color ? Also paint for top half /decor ???I plan to paint the wainscoting with white semi gloss :)

I used Deloran grey grout and really like with my tiles, similar to yours! I would keep the wall a light color and paint the wainscoting a darker color!

After he scrapes out the grout, get down on the floor and look it over closely. After we had a bad grout experience I found chips and such in the sides of tiles that I would have had them replace if I had seen them in time.

Sophie, I've never used that epoxy color, can it take a darker grout to a lighter color? Id like to try it...

Silverado or pewter

This is what I used in my son's condo. Went from dark brown to light grey (also sprayed the brass black with heat resistant paint). It turned out fantastic. Very easy to do. If you get extra on the tiles, just wipe it off. I used a toothbrush to help spread it. Did the fireplace and also a powder room floor.

Why is the tile guy picking the grout???

I would go with the epoxy grout color called "mist". After you get it regrouted it will be easier to suggest paint colors. The tile will look much different afterwards.

Actually you don't have to have a steady hand to apply the epoxy based grout colorant. The excess will come off with a white nylon scrub pad. I've applied probably 10,000 sf of it with great results.
