Patio & Pool Deck: Resufaced, Patterned & Stained Concrete

We took this dull, dirty, painted concrete surface, and gave it a complete makeover. Hand troweled new concrete surface, created a diamond tile pattern, and hand stained each tile, then applied a couple coats of clear sealer. The result is a gorgeous new backyard aesthetic !

Thanks! It was a tough project. I had a few weather delays, and I completed this project alone, so almost two weeks.

    Is this an overlay then?

Yes, hand troweled overlay. Actually a couple of them, plus the knock down texture layer.

I hear that those overlays don't last that long, is it true?

For how long do you guarantee the work?

    Thanks

It depends on substrate. The overlay is much harder than the actual concrete, but one can't promise it won't crack. Concrete will crack, so anything applied to concrete will as well, if the substrate moves. Resealing is important to longevity. Once the sealer wears away the overlay looks faded, and is exposed to the elements. Reseal every few years and it should be alright.
