Need help for dresser redo

I bought these great vintage dressers but would like to update them to go with more contemporary furniture. As noted in the pics, the upper drawers have a unique curve to them. The pulls are in good shape so I will keep them. Perhaps some black paint? Any ideas?

Or you could paint them in new fun colors! Black will show every particle of dust (trust me!) Paint your dressers with Chalk paint, You can paint anything, no need to prep the furniture first. If you have your heart set on a dark color why not try this charcoal gray?

Paint the curved drawers black, add mirror fronts to the flat drawers!

Add another countertop on the top of the cabinets as well as down the sides (waterfall effect) that coordinates with your other contemporary furniture. Apply the tops so they do not damage the dressers.

The wood is so nice - I think I would consider a black stain rather than paint.

Thank you Scott Design - I love the idea! I may elevate the top and utilize it as a TV/entertainment center for the lower level. Great ideas for new countertops in kitchen also.

The dressers definitely need painting. I also would recommend the paneling behind be refinished.

Don't know what your budget is....you could also add a marble slab on top of the cabinets...that contrasts with cabinet colour...

I think the cabinets blend in too much with the wall. The idea is great but the color should change.

FYI. The pics are from the Craigslist listing - not my house! My colors are tan, burgundy and slate blue.
