Skipping dormancy on cotoneaster cutting

Since late july I have a cotoneaster cutting I took from a back garden. It has rooted and is doing well on a SW facing window sill.

Winter is coming. So, what's better for my cutting? Skipping dormancy and take it outside next spring or take it outside right now. I'm in zone 8 in the Netherlands and night temperatures will be about 50°F the next few weeks. When temps get around freezing around december I can put it in an unheated storage space. Or I can put in my fridge.

The cutting seems a bit too fragile to take outside, so I´d rather skip dormancy and take it out next spring. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
